Winter In New Orleans

1/14/2013

Winter in New Orleans has a magical quality really. The weather is mild, mostly sunny, with a couple REALLY chilly days peppered in. Cold enough for scarves and boots, but not cold enough that your bones ache when you go outside and the wind burns your face. (I'm looking at you D.C. and Denver) We are in a damp week right now.. just days and days of sogginess and rain. I'm kind of enjoying the change.. but I found these photos from a few weeks ago when the weather was crisp, sunny, and just enough chill for my scarf and fingerless gloves. Quite perfect! Winter and Spring are New Orleans' best seasons. Summer here is the pits. (Sorry NOLA, I still think you're pretty cool.) Soaking up this cozy weather until summer hits.

These were all taken in City Park right near our house. Such a great place. Have
you ever visited New Orleans? Did you venture outside the French Quarter?
There is so much more to see!
I highly recommend a visit for Jazz Fest though.. it can't be missed!

My husband and I traveled to New Orleans this summer for our vacation and I absolutely LOVED it. We stayed in the French Quarter and spent most of our time there (we only had four days) but we were lucky to venture out as we had a family member who lived across the river. She took us to some of the cemetaries, to a plantation (I forget which one!) and to a jazz concert near her house. It was so much fun and I would love to go back!!
