Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves. ~John Muir
So true! There is something about the rustling of trees, the gravel beneath my feet, and a bird off in the distance that just renews the soul. Over the weekend we took a short drive out of town for a little afternoon hike and I am so glad we did. It was a beautiful day here in San Diego and this new trail did not disappoint. It was green, the breeze was amazing, and the waterfall and cool pond water was just what we needed. The baby LOVED sticking his feet in the water and started crying when it was time to head back down the trail. He wanted to splash all day! It was 6 miles total, and very easy. (I was in sandals.) Still, it felt amazing to get out in nature with my family and breathe in that good air. Feeling rejuvenated today, and I can't wait for our next hike! Do you hike?
