Monday Monday and Becoming No-TV People

Good Morning Monday! The gray days just keep on comin' around here and I can't complain. I'm really enjoying the cozy weather.  We plan to enjoy Halloween week.  We still need to carve our pumpkins, add the finishing touches to Benny's costume, watch Hocus Pocus one more time, listen to Thriller a dozen times, and eat a ton more candy!

Last night we had a little caramel apple party after dinner.. it was so festive and delicious. Nutella, caramel, pretzel sticks, white chocolate covered pretzels, crackers, candy corn and apples. We had such a fun time trying all the combinations.. the white chocolate pretzel in the caramel was so ridiculous, heavenly, over the top, decadent, it was EVERYTHING! I plan on eating another tray while we pass out candy on Thursday.

One other noteworthy announcement.  The record player pictured above is sitting on the site our TV once called home. When we moved back to California we decided not to get cable. The reasons were partially economic, and partially to prevent Bennett (and me) from being a couch-potato. So the TV sat there looking ugly for months. We set it up for the occasional movie. But to me, it was just a black eyesore, making my tiny living room ugly. So yesterday I put it in the garage where Albin's office is. I turned the stand into our music station, and for now I couldn't be happier. I've never been philosophically opposed to TV-watching. In fact, I love it.. but we have an iMac that fits the bill when I need to get my Teen Mom fix. I was just surprised what a hard decision it was to finally move the TV outside. I didn't want to be one of those extreme "they hate tv" families. But I'm glad I made the switch. The house feels more open already!

I'm off to take this baby to a pumpkin patch. Happy week y'all!

Seriously such a huge step getting rid of the tv. I too hate the look of electronics and wishhh I could get my husband to give it up. Pretty amazing you did this.. even if it's just temporary.
