It's nice to have good friends. As you get older, you (hopefully) start picking better friends. you start surrounding yourself with people you admire, people with integrity, the kind you can trust. Albin and I are lucky to have good friends. After the break in, a few friends from DC put together a little date night for us. They wanted us to remember the good things about New Orleans, so they set us up at the most amazing restaurant.
We were seated in this tiny restaurant off the beaten path in the French Quarter. It was dimly lit and romantic.
We started scanning the menu when the chef walks out, takes the menus, and said "You won't be needing these."
He then personally brought out three courses, and each was more decadent and wonderful than the one before...
Crawfish Beignets, smothered in a tangy cream sauce
Oh so flavorful creole spice rubbed and pan seared white fish over peppers.. this may have been my favorite
Rabbit and Andouille Gumbo
And a tasty red wine...
And at the end of all this pleasure and flavor, it was all paid for! It's nice to have good friends who care. We are both surrounded by love and laughter. We are the lucky ones.
Thank you to our dear friends. We were so touched, and we really enjoyed ourselves.
Love, Albin and Elizabeth
