First Month Must Haves

First Month Must Haves on find here
I always like to see what other blogger moms post as their "must- have" items for surviving those early days of motherhood. I thought I'd share the items I use the most too. Really, there isn't a whole lot you need.. these newborns need love, arms to hold them, and a breast. (Or a bottle) But these items here have made the transition just a little smoother..

Baby Mittens- My mother in law and I did a sewing lesson and made some of these.. I can't have enough. I'm too scared to cut those little nails.. we've only done it once. And those flailing arms have cut that precious face a few times.. best to keep the hands cozied up in the mittens for now.

Boppy Pillow- Am I the only one who uses this as a baby seat more than anything? I use it occasionally for breastfeeding.. but more often I use a regular pillow.. it's not really a must have for breastfeeding. But if you have the luxury of owning one.. It makes a great prop for photo positioning and for sitting your babe on the bed so you can do something. Bennett loves sitting in the Boppy.

Soothie Pacifiers- They tell you to introduce these after your baby is comfortable with the breast. We've used them since the beginning.. they didn't inhibit breastfeeding at all. They are pretty great. The hospital gave us three of them and I haven't needed to buy any.

Camera- I have used my DSLR a thousand times a day. Nice to have a good camera. You'll use your cell phone and a point and shoot plenty too.. but it's nice to capture those special moments with quality pictures.

Aiden and Anais Swaddle Blankets- I didn't realize I needed these at first. They are a little pricey, but SO worth it.. especially for a summer baby. They are bigger than a regular swaddle blanket, and made of lovely breathable muslin. He sleeps great swaddled in this. I also use it as a breast cover, burp cloth, mosquito net, and sun shield. I use them constantly and LOVE them.

Lansinoh Nipple Cream and Nursing Pads- Do these really need an explanation? Protect your breasts.. they're going through a lot right now.

Boon Grass Drying Rack- This drying rack is so cute. It was a steal at $15.00 and has been so handy for holding all those little pump and bottle parts. LOVE the Boon Company.

Trumpette Socks- Definitely the priciest baby socks around.. but so cute. I love that they look like shoes, and they stay on way better than any other baby sock brand I've seen. If I'm paying for them I don't want them getting lost. Cool sock fact.. there IS a company called Me In Mind that will replace your missing sock for free. Love this concept!

Graco Baby Swing- We almost didn't get one of these-- so nice to have something that can rock him for me so I can do some blogging or take a shower. Get a swing Mamas!

There are so many great items on my list.. but these are the things I use all day everyday! Love to see what other Moms are talking about.
