On your 2 month birthday.. in the apartment we evacuated to in Houston. Glad I remembered this 2 month onesie!
My Dear Bennett,

I can't believe you are 2 months old. I look at photos from the day you were born and wonder where these last few weeks have gone. I have loved every moment of snuggling with you. As I write this, we are in Houston. To be safe, we decided to evacuate New Orleans to avoid Hurricane Isaac. Because of this impromptu road trip, you had your first long car ride. Actually, you did pretty well. About halfway in, you got a little upset. But when I sat in the backseat beside you, the smiles returned and we chatted most of the way to Houston.
You've become very "talkative" recently. I'm loving your coos, and aahs. They melt my heart. Sometimes I hear you jabbering to yourself in your crib.. it is the sweetest sound on Earth.
Because of the storm, we are going to miss your 2 month check up.. but Daddy and I did a bootleg weigh in, and our guess is you are 14 pounds. I'm not surprised.. sometimes you feel like a bag of bricks. A precious bag of bricks.
So this month we moved,  evacuated New Orleans, started playing with toys, slept through the night a few times, met your Aunt Jenny, Uncle Breac, and Grandpa, went on your first swamp tour, and had your first trip to Cafe du Monde. A pretty eventful second month. We love you!

Love, Mama
